Indre-et-Loire (37), dont la préfecture est Tours, fait partie de la région Centre-Val de Loire. Avec 27 863 autorisations d'urbanisme délivrées sur 272 communes, le département se situe derrière Loiret (30 739 dossiers) parmi les départements de sa région.
L'activité est répartie de façon homogène : Tours cumule à elle seule 1 999 dossiers , dont un ratio de démolition notable (532 PD sur 1 407 PC, soit 38 %) . Joué-lès-Tours et Amboise complètent le podium. Les 10 premières communes concentrent 26 % des autorisations du département.
Côté construction, 17,8 millions de m² de surface de plancher ont été autorisés, pour 47 905 logements. Le pic d'activité se situe en 2021 (2 634 autorisations), avec depuis une tendance à la baisse : -64,5 % en 2026.
